Sinner beats Dimitrov to win Miami Open title!
Italian player Yannick Sinner defeated Bulgarian player Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 6-1 at Hard Rock Stadium to win the ATP Miami Open Masters 1000 title. It is Sinner's third title of the season and will move him to a career-high No. 2 in the ATP World Rankings on Monday, surpassing Spain's Carlos Alcaraz.
After breaking through in the fifth game of the first set, Sinner was never in danger and faced just one break point throughout the match. Sinner clinched the Miami title in 72 minutes, capping an electric hard-court season that has seen him win 25 of his last 26 games, with his only defeat coming in the semifinals at Indian Wells. Lost to Alcaraz. He once again joined the ranks of champions after being crowned at this year's Australian Open and Rotterdam Indoors.
This is the Italian's third Miami final - he lost to Poland's Hubert Hurkacs in 2021 and Daniil Medvedev last year. Sinner previously won his last Masters 1000 title in 2023 in Toronto. Dimitrov will return to the top 10 in Monday's rankings for the first time since October 2018.
