Andy Murray, the two-time Olympic men's singles champion, confirmed on Tuesday that the Paris Games will be his final event before retiring from professional tennis.

"Arrived in Paris for my last ever tennis tournament," the 37-year-old Murray posted on the X social media platform.

The tennis events at the Paris will commence on Saturday, taking place on the clay courts at Roland Garros.

Murray clinched his first gold medal on the grass courts at Wimbledon during the 2012 London Olympics, defeating Roger Federer in . He successfully defended his title in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, overcoming Juan Martin del Potro on hard courts.

"Competing for (Britain) has been by far the most memorable weeks of my and I'm extremely proud to get do it one final time!" Murray said Tuesday.

In 2019, Murray underwent hip replacement surgery and has since faced several injuries. Earlier this month, he withdrew from singles at Wimbledon following a procedure to remove a cyst from his spine.
