Ravens Trade for Panthers' Wide Receiver Diontae Johnson
The Baltimore Ravens have completed a trade for wide receiver Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers, confirmed by both teams on Tuesday.
In return, Carolina will receive a fifth-round and a sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Johnson, who joined the Panthers before the 2024 season after spending five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, leads Carolina's receiver group with 30 receptions, totaling 357 yards and three touchdowns so far this season.
For the Ravens, Johnson joins a receiver corps currently topped by Zay Flowers, with 527 receiving yards, and Rashod Bateman, who has recorded 422 yards. Nelson Agholor follows with 170 yards, ranking third among Baltimore wide receivers.
With Johnson's departure, the Panthers are expected to shift focus to rookies Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker, potentially increasing their roles on the field.
Over his NFL career, Johnson has accumulated 4,720 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns across 421 catches. His standout season was in 2021, where he notched 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection.
