Commanders' Daniels Week-to-Week with Injured Ribs
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is now week-to-week following a rib injury sustained during the team's 40-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Head coach Dan Quinn provided updates on Daniels' condition during a press conference on Monday, including insights reported by The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala.
"We're hopeful he can play, but we'll also make sure to take every precautionary step and do it smartly for the player and the man," Quinn stated.
After Daniels was ruled out, Marcus Mariota stepped in as the replacement. Mariota completed 78.3% of his passes, amassing 205 yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing 34 yards on 11 carries.
The Commanders' upcoming schedule features a home game against the Chicago Bears, a road contest against the New York Giants, and a home match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In his rookie season, Daniels has demonstrated strong performance as one of the NFL's most productive quarterbacks. He has recorded 1,410 passing yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions, alongside 372 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Additionally, the No. 2 overall pick leads the league with a completion rate of 75.6%.
