Saints' Shaheed Out for Season After Meniscus Surgery
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed will be sidelined for the rest of the season following meniscus surgery, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to the report, Shaheed has been placed on injured reserve and is expected to be out for four to six months. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that doctors opted for a full meniscus repair instead of a trim, which extended the recovery period.
Before his injury, the 26-year-old had been off to a strong start, recording 20 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns. Shaheed also returned a punt for a touchdown earlier in the season.
The Saints, already dealing with key injuries, will also be without Chris Olave, who is missing Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. Additionally, quarterback Derek Carr has been sidelined with an oblique injury.
Reports indicate that New Orleans is considering New York Jets wideout Mike Williams as a potential replacement.
