Jackson Outduels Daniels, Henry Rushes for 2 TDs as Ravens Defeat Commanders 30-23
Lamar Jackson delivered a strong performance with 323 passing yards and 40 rushing yards as the Baltimore Ravens secured a 30-23 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, marking their fourth consecutive victory.
Jackson, who threw nine passes to Zay Flowers in the first half but did not target him again, outperformed rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who completed 24 of 35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns to Terry McLaurin. Jackson's passing performance helped the Ravens take control, while Derrick Henry added to the offense with 132 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Mark Andrews made a key contribution, catching his first touchdown pass of the season after a rough start that included a dropped ball that resulted in an interception. Andrews' touchdown, his 41st career score, tied him with Todd Heap for the most receiving touchdowns in Ravens history.
The Ravens' offense was highly efficient, accumulating 484 total yards. Henry's two touchdowns, including one from 7 yards out late in the third quarter, were crucial, as the Ravens also had scoring drives of 93 and 94 yards that helped them pull ahead.
Despite Daniels' efforts, Washington struggled without running back Brian Robinson Jr., who missed the game due to a knee injury. The Commanders' rushing attack was limited to just 52 yards, and their defense failed to contain the Ravens' balanced offensive attack.
Baltimore's win, led by Jackson and Henry, solidified their position as a top contender in the league. Coach John Harbaugh praised the team's overall performance, stating, “All three phases contributed to the win when they had to.”
Following the game, Jackson remained focused on improvement, saying, “We're just proving we can win games. There's always room for improvement.”
