Curry Returns to Action Against Wizards After Missing Three Games
Stephen Curry made his return to the Golden State Warriors' lineup for their matchup against the Washington Wizards on Monday, following a three-game absence due to an ankle injury.
The Warriors (5-1) managed to secure victories in all three games without their star player. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans twice at home before claiming a thrilling overtime win over the Houston Rockets on the road.
Curry, 36, has played in three games this season, averaging 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
The injury occurred late in the third quarter of the Warriors' 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which remains their only defeat of the season. An MRI revealed no structural damage to Curry's ankle.
Throughout his 16-year NBA career, Curry has faced multiple ankle injuries. In the 2011-12 season, a lockout-shortened year, he missed 40 of 66 games due to an ankle issue that required surgery.
