Paul George Expected to Return for Sixers in Monday's Matchup Against Suns
Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George is anticipated to make his season debut against the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, contingent on continued progress in his knee recovery, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
George, a nine-time All-Star, has missed the Sixers' first five games of the 2024-25 season while rehabbing a bone bruise in his left knee, sustained in a preseason matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 14. As of the latest injury report, the 34-year-old is listed as questionable for Monday's game.
Philadelphia has also been without another All-Star, Joel Embiid, who has yet to appear in a game this season due to ongoing knee issues.
Last season, George played for the Los Angeles Clippers, where he averaged 22.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds. In the offseason, he signed a four-year, $212 million contract with the Sixers, marking a significant addition to the roster.
The 76ers have struggled in the season's early stages, posting a 1-4 record. Following the Suns game, they will continue their West Coast road trip, facing George's former team, the Clippers, on Wednesday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
