Banchero Sets Career High with 50 Points in Magic's Narrow Victory Against Pacers
Paolo Banchero achieved a career-high 50 points, along with 13 rebounds and nine assists, leading the Orlando Magic to a 119-115 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday.
Banchero's scoring included 37 points in the first half, tying Tracy McGrady's franchise record for points in a half. This marks Orlando's first 50-point game since McGrady's 51-point performance against the Denver Nuggets in 2003, as noted by Statmuse. It is also the first 50-point game in the NBA for the current season.
Banchero is now among LeBron James as the only players to score over 50 points, grab 10 rebounds, and provide five assists in a game before turning 22 years old, according to Statmuse.
In addition to Banchero's performance, Magic guard Jalen Suggs contributed 25 points to the win. For the Pacers, forward Pascal Siakam was the leading scorer with 26 points.
With this victory, the Magic's record improves to 3-1, and they will face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
