Kuzma Shifts Focus Away from NBA Tunnel Fashion Trends
Kyle Kuzma is shifting away from his previously bold fashion choices in the NBA tunnel as he enters his eighth season. In an interview with Leah Faye Cooper from Vogue, the Washington Wizards forward discussed his more understated approach to pregame attire.
"I don't want to be a part of that type of community where you have to put on a fit," Kuzma stated. "I'm really taking a backseat to all of that."
Known for his striking tunnel outfits, Kuzma gained notable attention for an oversized pink sweater he wore in 2021, which later inspired a bobblehead figure.
Reflecting on his earlier years in the league, Kuzma remarked on the pressure younger players face regarding their fashion choices. "I can speak from experience that when you're a younger player, you don't want to wear the same thing twice," he said. "A lot of times we get played into thinking, 'Oh, we gotta switch it up, we gotta buy something new.' And now we're just buying clothes to impress people or to stand out. It's ludicrous."
Currently, Kuzma is in his fourth season with the Wizards after being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers in August 2021. Through two games this season, he is averaging 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
