Gordon Gets 4-Year, $133M Extension from Nuggets
Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has agreed to a four-year, $133 million contract extension that includes a player option for the 2028-29 season and a trade kicker, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
To facilitate this extension, Gordon exercised his $23 million player option for the 2025-26 season. The 29-year-old will receive his maximum salary over the next three seasons, along with potential bonuses, as reported by Charania.
Entering his fifth season with the Nuggets, Gordon previously played seven seasons with the Orlando Magic after being selected fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. During his time in Denver, he has averaged 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Gordon was instrumental in the Nuggets' championship run in 2023, averaging 13.3 points, six rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the playoffs.
The Nuggets' core players, including Gordon, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr., are all under contract through at least the 2026-27 season. This offseason, the franchise lost veteran wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Magic, marking a significant change to one of the NBA's top lineups from the past two seasons.
The Nuggets are set to begin their season on Thursday at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
