Warriors Sign Curry to 1-Year, $62.6M Extension
The Golden State Warriors have finalized a one-year, $62.6-million extension with Stephen Curry, extending his contract through the 2026-27 season, as confirmed by his agent to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
This extension represents the longest deal the Warriors could offer the four-time NBA champion, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. Over the next three years, Curry is set to earn a guaranteed $178 million.
Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. expressed confidence in July about extending Curry's contract, stating, "That guy can get whatever he wants. … I think that stuff will get figured out, and he'll be a Warrior for life."
Curry, who is 36 years old, recently had a notable performance at the Olympics. He scored 36 points in Team USA's semifinal comeback win against Serbia and added 24 points in the gold-medal game to secure a victory over France.
Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds across 74 games. He was also selected for his 10th career All-Star appearance and was named Clutch Player of the Year.
Drafted by Golden State as the No. 7 overall pick in 2009, Curry has spent his entire NBA career with the Warriors. He holds the record for the most career 3-pointers and was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.
