Cavaliers Extend Jarrett Allen with 3-Year, $91 Million Max Deal
The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced a three-year, $91 million maximum extension for center Jarrett Allen, according to his agent, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
This extension adds to the remaining time on Allen's previous contract, bringing his total earnings to $131 million over the next five seasons.
Allen has been with the Cavaliers for the last three-and-a-half seasons after starting his NBA career with the Brooklyn Nets for over three years.
Last season, he achieved a career-high average of 16.5 points per game, along with 10.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists, while playing alongside emerging talent Evan Mobley. Additionally, he finished 10th in the voting for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
With this move, Allen becomes the third Cavaliers player to secure a significant extension this summer, following Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell.
The Cavaliers are aiming to build on their recent success from the 2023 season, where they recorded a 48-34 record and won their first playoff series since LeBron James was with the team.
