Jackson Signing with 76ers After Hornets Buyout
Veteran point guard Reggie Jackson was waived by the Charlotte Hornets, as announced by the team. Jackson plans to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers upon clearing waivers, sources informed ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Jackson, 34, played last season with the Denver Nuggets before being traded to the Hornets on Day 2 of the NBA draft. He had one year remaining on his contract worth $5.3 million.
During his time with the Nuggets last season, Jackson averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists. He was part of the team that won the NBA championship in 2023. Over his 13-season career, Jackson holds averages of 12.6 points and 4.2 assists.
The 76ers have also signed nine-time All-Star Paul George, who previously played with Jackson on the Los Angeles Clippers from 2020 to 2023.
In addition to Jackson and George, Philadelphia has strengthened their roster by adding veterans Caleb Martin, Eric Gordon, and Andre Drummond in free agency. The franchise has also re-signed Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, Kyle Lowry, and KJ Martin.
