Warriors Complete Sign-and-Trade with 76ers for Hieldillustration

The have successfully acquired Buddy Hield from the Philadelphia 76ers in a sign-and-trade deal, as reported by The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Hield has inked a $21-million with a fully guaranteed $18 million over the first two years, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Since sign-and-trades require at least three-year contracts, the deal includes a partial guarantee of $3 million in the third year and a player option for a non-guaranteed fourth year.

This transaction will be part of a larger five-team trade that also includes Klay Thompson's move to the Dallas Mavericks and Kyle Anderson joining the Warriors, as per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

To finalize Hield's acquisition, Golden State will send Philadelphia the Mavericks' second-round pick in 2031.

Negotiations between the two teams over the 31-year-old Hield began late Tuesday.

Last season, Hield averaged 12.1 per game, playing for both the Indiana Pacers and the 76ers, who acquired him in a three-team trade in February. During his 32 games with Philadelphia, 14 of which he started, he posted shooting splits of 42/39/92.

An eight-year veteran, Hield is expected to fill the outside shooting gap left by Thompson's move to the Mavericks. Hield, who has a career 40% 3-point shooting average, shot 42.5% from beyond the arc during a full season with the Pacers in 2022-23.
