Wizards Trade Avdija to Blazers for Brogdon and Draft Pick
The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for guard Malcolm Brogdon, the 14th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and a 2029 draft selection, sources confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Portland will send the second-most favorable of their 2029 draft picks and two additional second-round selections in 2028 and 2030, reported The Athletic's Josh Robbins.
Avdija, who recently placed sixth in the Most Improved Player voting, averaged 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game for the Wizards last season. He signed a four-year, $55 million contract last offseason.
The Wizards, finishing 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 15-67 record, hold the 2nd and 26th picks in the upcoming draft.
Brogdon appeared in 39 games for the Blazers last season, averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. The former Sixth Man of the Year winner missed the final 33 games due to an elbow injury.
