Knicks to acquire Mikal Bridges from Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly agreed to trade Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, according to sources close to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
In exchange for Bridges, the Knicks are sending Bojan Bogdanovic, along with four unprotected first-round picks, one of which originates from the Milwaukee Bucks and is protected, the rights to swap future picks, and a second-round selection to the Nets, Wojnarowski reports.
Last season, Bridges, 27, demonstrated strong performance, averaging 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1 steal per game while starting in all 82 games for Brooklyn. He maintained a shooting accuracy of 37.2% from beyond the arc on 7.2 attempts per game.
This move reunites Bridges with several of his former college teammates from Villanova, where he played from 2015 to 2018 alongside Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo.
This transaction marks the first trade between the Nets and the Knicks since 1983.
