NBA Concludes Investigation into Thunder's Josh Giddey
The NBA has concluded its investigation into Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey concerning an alleged relationship with a female minor, sources informed ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
This conclusion follows the Newport Beach Police Department's decision four months prior to close their own investigation. The police department stated it was "unable to corroborate any criminal activity" related to the online allegations of an inappropriate relationship between Giddey and an underage girl.
The allegations first emerged on social media in November, prompting both the NBA and Newport Beach PD to initiate separate investigations into Giddey's conduct.
In response to the situation back in November, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault referred to Giddey's circumstances as a "personal matter."
Reflecting on his season during his season-ending availability, the 21-year-old Giddey acknowledged experiencing some "dark days" during the campaign, as reported by Rylan Stiles.
Giddey recently completed his third season with the Thunder.
