The New York Knicks have announced that star guard Jalen Brunson underwent surgery on his left hand following a fracture sustained during Sunday's Game 7 loss against the Indiana Pacers. As a result, Brunson is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of six to eight weeks.

Throughout the postseason, Brunson showcased remarkable performance, averaging 32.4 , 7.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game, instrumental in propelling the Knicks to the brink of their first Eastern Conference final appearance in 24 years. Notably, his 47-point explosion against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 set a new franchise record for playoff scoring.

In a separate injury setback, veteran forward Bojan Bogdanovic will also be sidelined for an extended period after undergoing surgery on his left wrist. Bogdanovic, acquired midseason from the Detroit Pistons, contributed significantly to the Knicks' lineup, averaging 10.4 points per game and shooting 37% from beyond the arc over 29 appearances.

However, Bogdanovic's postseason was marred by injury, limiting him to just four games after suffering a foot injury in the opening round, necessitating a subsequent surgical procedure.

With Bogdanovic's contract extending through the upcoming season at $19 million, his salary is set to become fully guaranteed on June 28th.
