Angels Sign Veteran Pitcher Kyle Hendricks to $2.5 Million Deal for 2024 Season
The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with veteran starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Hendricks, 34, enters the deal after a challenging 2023 season with the Chicago Cubs, where he posted a 5.92 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP in 130.2 innings pitched.
A long-time member of the Cubs, Hendricks has spent all 11 years of his MLB career with the team. His most successful season came in 2016, when he was part of Chicago's World Series-winning roster. That year, Hendricks finished third in NL Cy Young voting with a 16-8 record and a league-leading 2.13 ERA, earning a 196 ERA+.
Over his career, Hendricks has accumulated a 3.68 ERA across 1,580.1 innings pitched.
