Boone Supports Judge's Place in Batting Order: 'He's Our Guy'
New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has confirmed that he will not be altering Aaron Judge's position in the batting order, despite the outfielder's current difficulties at the plate. When asked about the possibility of moving Judge in the lineup, Boone stated, "It's the World Series. No."
Boone emphasized Judge's importance to the team, saying, "That's our guy. There's pressure in the series in whatever spot you're hitting. He's our guy and confident he'll get it going."
Judge has been struggling in the World Series, with only one hit in nine at-bats, resulting in six strikeouts. His overall postseason performance has also been underwhelming, featuring a .150/.280/.325 slash line, along with 19 strikeouts in 40 at-bats.
Following the Yankees' Game 2 loss, Judge expressed his frustration, acknowledging his need to improve after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. "I definitely gotta step up and do my job," Judge said. "Guys around me are doing their job, getting on base, and I'm failing backing them up."
Judge, a leading candidate for his second AL MVP award, has a career postseason slash line of .199/.304/.436, with 85 strikeouts in 248 plate appearances.
