Palmer Extends Chelsea Contract by Two Years to 2033
Cole Palmer has secured a new contract with Chelsea, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer, has signed a nine-year deal with enhanced terms following a standout season.
In his debut season with Chelsea, Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists across 45 appearances. His performance earned him a spot in the England squad, and he scored in the 2-1 Euro 2024 final loss to Spain in July.
Palmer is among the nominees for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, set to be announced in Salford next week. He also claimed the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24.
Chelsea will face Manchester City in their Premier League opener on Sunday, with manager Enzo Maresca facing his former team. Maresca, who previously assisted Pep Guardiola in winning the Treble in the 2022-23 season, led Leicester City to the Championship title last season, securing their return to the Premier League.
