Brentford Completes £27.5 Million Signing of Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool

Brentford have confirmed the signing of winger Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool in a deal valued at £27.5 million, including add-ons.

The 21-year-old, who spent the previous season on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, has signed a five-year contract with the option for an additional year.

Liverpool will receive an initial payment of £22.5 million, along with a negotiated 17.5% sell-on clause for any future transfer.

Fulham, the club that sold Portuguese winger Carvalho to Liverpool in 2022, will receive 20% of the profit from his transfer to Brentford.

Brentford's acquisition of Carvalho comes after they outbid Southampton, who had a £15 million offer rejected by Liverpool.

During his time at Anfield, Carvalho struggled to establish himself, scoring three goals in 21 competitive appearances.

He joined Leipzig at the start of the 2023-24 campaign on a season-long loan but returned in December after primarily featuring as a substitute. He subsequently moved to Hull City in the Championship.

At Hull, Carvalho had a successful stint, scoring nine goals in 20 matches as the team narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
