Manchester United Appoints Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake as Assistant Coaches to Erik ten Hag

Manchester United has appointed former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as one of their new assistant coaches, alongside former Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake. Both join Dutchman Erik ten Hag's coaching staff on contracts running until June 2026.

Ten Hag expressed the timing as opportune for refreshing the coaching team, aiming to build on recent successes and advance further. He retained his position at United following their FA Cup victory last season.

Van Nistelrooy returns to Old Trafford where he notably scored 150 goals in 219 appearances between 2000 and 2006. His coaching experience includes a stint at PSV Eindhoven, concluding after the 2022-23 season.

Meanwhile, Hake guided Go Ahead Eagles to a ninth-place finish during his sole season in charge last year.

Additionally, Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek's departure from United is confirmed as he joins Spanish team Girona on a three-year contract.
