New Chelsea Boss Maresca Aims to Build Winning Culture

Enzo Maresca, the newly appointed Chelsea manager, emphasized the importance of rebuilding the club's relationship with its supporters following a turbulent period at Stamford Bridge.

The 44-year-old Italian, who recently succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in a mutual agreement, garnered attention from club executives for his role in Leicester's immediate return to the top flight.

"For me, it's quite clear we need to create as soon as possible the right mentality, the right culture—a culture that the fans can be proud of," Maresca stated in an interview with the club's official website. "We're going to try to be an aggressive team on and off the ball. We need to create this connection between the fans and the club, especially at home."

During Pochettino's tenure, along with predecessors Graham Potter and interim manager Frank Lampard, home game atmospheres often reflected frustration among fans towards players, management, and club leadership.

Under Maresca's predecessor, Chelsea lost just one of their final 15 league games, securing qualification for the Europa Conference League but ending the season without a trophy for the second consecutive year.

"When you join a club like Chelsea, you have to understand it's a club that expects to win," Maresca affirmed. "We're committed to doing our utmost to compete alongside clubs currently vying for titles."

Maresca expressed confidence in the squad's talent: "One of the reasons I'm here is because I believe in the team's capabilities. It's a talented squad, and now our priority is to instill the right culture to guide us through the season."
