Chelsea Sets Record with Historic 8-0 Win in UEFA, Manchester United Marks First European Victory in Over a Year
Chelsea made history on November 7, setting a new record for the largest score difference in the UEFA League with an 8-0 victory over Noah FC. This dominant performance took place during the third round of the UEFA League stage at Stamford Bridge.
In the first half, Enzo Fernandez made a significant impact, assisting in the opening goal and scoring a hat trick within just 20 minutes. In the 12th minute, Chelsea earned a corner from the right, which Enzo delivered to the middle of the penalty area, where Adarabioyo scored with a header. A minute later, Noah FC made a mistake in their own half, with Giu intercepting a poor back pass, taking a shot inside the penalty area to make it 2-0.
In the 18th minute, Chelsea again capitalized on a corner from Enzo, with Disasi heading the ball into the net. Three minutes later, Giu tackled an opposing player in the attacking third, passed to Enzo, who then set up Felix to score calmly.
OptaJavier stats confirmed that Enzo Fernandez completed the fastest assist hat trick in the past decade at 20 minutes and 45 seconds, marking a new record for assists in European competition (Champions League, Europa League, and UEFA League).
Chelsea led 6-0 at halftime, with Felix scoring twice, and Adarabioyo, Disasi, Giu, and Mudrick also getting on the scoreboard. In the second half, Chelsea continued their dominance, with Nkunku extending their lead, and Hall earning a penalty for Nkunku to convert again. At the final whistle, Chelsea triumphed 8-0.
This result marked the biggest score margin in UEFA League history and reaffirmed Chelsea's position at the top of their group with three wins out of three. According to BBC statistics, Chelsea scored 16 goals in their first three UEFA League matches, far outpacing second-place Warsaw Legion, who scored 8 goals.
In addition, this was the third-largest win in Chelsea's history, following a 13-goal victory over a Belgian team in 1971, which still holds the club's record for the most dominant win.
