Ryan Yates opened the scoring for Forest in the 16th minute, but Jamie Vardy quickly equalized for Leicester. However, Wood capitalized on defensive errors from Leicester, bringing his season total to seven goals.

Vardy's equalizer arrived just seven minutes later, as he slotted home a cross from Harry Winks after slipping between defenders Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic.
Despite the setback, Forest regained momentum. Wood put them ahead in the second half, scoring two minutes after the restart when he expertly placed a low shot into the corner after Leicester lost possession.
Hudson-Odoi hit the post shortly after, and the situation worsened for Leicester when Wout Faes misjudged a long clearance from Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, allowing Wood to nod the ball into the net for a 3-1 lead.
Leicester, aiming for their third consecutive Premier League win, now sits in 14th place and will need to address their defensive issues before their upcoming match against Ipswich.
Nottingham Forest's performance marked a significant improvement, as they have accumulated more points this season than they did at this stage last year. They boast the second-best defense in the league, and only Erling Haaland has scored more goals than Wood.
Under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest has built upon the foundations laid by Cooper, who guided the team from the Championship to the Premier League in 2022. The visiting fans acknowledged Cooper's contribution with chants, recognizing his role in the club's ongoing journey.
