Endrick Scores on Real Madrid Debut in Victory Over Valladolid
Endrick marked his debut for Real Madrid with a goal as Carlo Ancelotti's team secured their first La Liga win of the season with a 3-0 victory against Real Valladolid.
The match saw Real Madrid struggle for much of the game, particularly during Kylian Mbappe's home debut. However, the breakthrough came in the second half when Federico Valverde's shot deflected off Stanko Juric and past Valladolid's goalkeeper, Karl Hein, giving Madrid a 1-0 lead.
Substitute Brahim Diaz extended the lead to 2-0 in the 88th minute, finishing a long pass from Eder Militao with a chip over Hein.
Endrick, the 18-year-old forward, sealed the win with a goal in the final minute of added time, scoring with a powerful shot inside the near post.
In the first half, Real Madrid faced difficulties as Valladolid's defensive setup effectively stifled the attacking threats of Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo. Valladolid's defensive strategy limited the available space, making it hard for Madrid to break through.
The game opened up as Valladolid pushed for an equalizer, creating more space for Madrid to exploit. Mbappe had several promising runs but did not score.
Real Madrid, who had previously drawn 1-1 with Mallorca in their La Liga opener, will next face Las Palmas on Thursday at 20:30 BST.
Endrick's debut for Madrid came after he joined the club in July 2024 due to FIFA regulations prohibiting international transfers for players under 18. Although his appearance lasted just over 10 minutes, Endrick made an impact with his performance. He was previously noted for scoring for Brazil while playing for Palmeiras and has generated significant interest alongside Mbappe's high-profile arrival.
Endrick replaced Mbappe in the 86th minute and demonstrated his potential with a dynamic performance that complemented the team's attacking play. Despite a largely scrappy match, Endrick's late goal added a finishing touch to the victory.
