Madrid Star Bellingham to Miss One Month with Calf Injury
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is expected to be sidelined for approximately one month due to a calf injury sustained during training on Friday, according to reports from Spain.
The club's medical team has diagnosed Bellingham with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. Real Madrid has not provided a specific timeline for his recovery in their official statement.
As a result, Bellingham will miss several La Liga fixtures, including matches against Real Valladolid, Las Palmas, and Real Betis. He will also be absent from England's Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland in September.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti commented earlier Friday, "Bellingham took a knock, we're evaluating it," during a press conference.
Bellingham played a crucial role for Real Madrid last season, contributing to their Champions League and La Liga victories. This season, he has been deployed in a central midfield role to adjust for the arrival of striker Kylian Mbappe, having previously played in a more advanced position.
The 21-year-old midfielder is aiming to return in time for Real Madrid's first Champions League match of the season, scheduled between September 17-19.
