Fourth Suspect Arrested in Stabbing of Lamine Yamal’s Father Near Barcelona
Barcelona police have arrested a fourth individual in connection with the stabbing of Mounir Nasraoui, the father of 17-year-old Spanish soccer star Lamine Yamal. The arrest took place on Thursday, following the detainment of three other suspects the previous day.
The incident occurred near Barcelona, where Nasraoui was reportedly stabbed multiple times during an altercation with a group of individuals. He remains hospitalized but provided an update on social media, stating he was “feeling better” and expressed gratitude for the support he has received.
Authorities extended their thanks to the public for assisting in the arrests related to the stabbing. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Lamine Yamal, who trained as usual with his Barcelona teammates on Thursday, is preparing for the club's opening match of the Spanish league season, set to take place on Saturday against Valencia.
Yamal gained international attention in July when Spain won the European Championship. He played a key role in the tournament, assisting Nico Williams in the opening goal during the 2-1 victory over England in the final. Yamal also scored a notable goal in the semifinals and was honored with the tournament's Best Young Player award, coinciding with his 17th birthday.
