Tottenham Hotspur Pursues Bournemouth Striker Dominic Solanke
Tottenham Hotspur have targeted Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as a key acquisition before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. The 26-year-old forward is reportedly eager to make the next step in his career by joining a club competing in European competitions, which could enhance his chances of securing a place in the England national team.
Bournemouth is not inclined to entertain offers for Solanke, who is under contract until 2027. The situation is complicated by a £65 million release clause in his contract, which may prompt the club to consider selling the former Liverpool player, who netted 21 goals in 42 appearances last season.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou emphasized last week that signing a forward is a "focus" for the club. "It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest," he stated, highlighting the need for reinforcement in the attack.
In addition to Solanke, Tottenham is exploring other options, including Lille's Jonathan David, and remains open to adding a winger to their squad. The future of forward Richarlison is uncertain due to reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, and Spurs are keen to secure another striker regardless of whether the Brazilian stays or leaves.
Meanwhile, forwards Bryan Gil and Alejo Veliz have joined Girona and Espanyol, respectively, on season-long loan deals. However, young talents such as Dane Scarlett, Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore are all pushing for opportunities within the first team.
This summer, Tottenham has already added midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, as well as winger Yang Min-hyuk. The club has also re-signed striker Timo Werner on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.
