West Ham United Signs Striker Niclas Fullkrug for Reported £27.5Millustration

West Ham has officially signed Germany Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of £27.5 million. The announcement was made on Monday.

During his time at Dortmund, Fullkrug scored 16 goals in a single season, contributing to the team's journey to last season's Champions League final. Despite starting all five matches on the bench, the 31-year-old managed to score twice as Germany reached the of Euro 2024, held on home soil.

Fullkrug is known as a strong centre-forward and is highly regarded in Germany, with many fans advocating for him to start over Arsenal's Kai Havertz at the Euros.

"I think the Premier League is the best league in the world, and for me, it is the right time to move over to and play for a big club like West Ham," Fullkrug stated in a club announcement.

West Ham has been active during a relatively quiet transfer window, bringing in other players including wingers Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme, as well as defender Max Kilman, as Julen Lopetegui begins his first season in charge.

"We are delighted to have signed Niclas," commented West Ham technical director Tim Steidten, who previously worked with Fullkrug at Werder Bremen. "I have worked with him previously and I know what he will bring to us in terms of his physical and finishing qualities, as well as his character and mentality."
