Bournemouth Signs Juventus's Dean Huijsen in £12.8 Million Deal
Bournemouth have secured the signing of teenage defender Dean Huijsen from Juventus on a six-year contract for an initial fee of £12.8 million. The total cost of the transfer could increase to £15.3 million with add-ons, which will be paid over a span of five years.
The 19-year-old becomes Bournemouth's fourth signing of the summer, joining fellow newcomers Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison, and Enes Unal, who has transitioned from a loan deal to a permanent contract after initially joining from Getafe in January.
Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen represented his country at various youth levels up to under-19s. He moved to Spain at the age of five and obtained Spanish citizenship this year, making his debut for the under-21 team in March.
Before joining Bournemouth, Huijsen spent the latter half of last season on loan at Roma, where he made 13 appearances.
"We are delighted to bring in a player of such high calibre on a long-term deal," said Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake. "Dean is someone that has such exciting potential and we are all excited to see where his journey with the club will go. We're looking forward to welcoming him to Vitality Stadium and working together to help develop further all the qualities that he already possesses."
