Fulham Break Club Record to Sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal
Fulham have finalized an agreement with Arsenal to acquire midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial fee of £27 million, with the possibility of an additional £7 million in add-ons. This transfer marks a club record for Fulham.
The add-ons are reportedly tied to Fulham's performance in Cup competitions and European tournaments. Smith Rowe, a 23-year-old academy graduate and a well-regarded figure among Arsenal supporters, has recently been omitted from Arsenal's last two pre-season fixtures as the deal was finalized.
Smith Rowe has three caps for England, with his most recent appearance coming in 2022. At Arsenal, he has fallen behind Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka in the pecking order.
In a related move, Arsenal have signed Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee potentially reaching £42 million.
