Everton Signs Forward Ndiaye on Five-Year Deal
Everton Football Club has completed the signing of Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille, securing his services on a five-year contract for a fee reportedly around £15 million.
The 24-year-old, who joined Marseille from Sheffield United last season, contributed four goals in 46 appearances, aiding the French club's journey to the Europa League semi-finals.
Manager Sean Dyche expressed optimism about Ndiaye's potential, stating, "He is young but brings valuable European and international experience to our squad."
Sheffield United reluctantly accepted a reported £20 million bid for Ndiaye after his standout performance, including 14 goals and 11 assists in their 2022-23 Championship promotion campaign.
Ndiaye initially joined Sheffield United from non-league side Boreham Wood in 2019. Born in France, he later moved to Senegal, his father's homeland, after a spell at the Marseille academy.
Ndiaye becomes Everton's third summer signing, joining winger Jack Harrison on a season-long loan from Leeds and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.
“I was attracted to Everton by its rich history and the role I can play in its future," said Ndiaye, who has earned 20 caps for Senegal.
“It will be an honor to play at Goodison Park for its final season,” he added.
Kevin Thelwell, Everton's director of football, praised the acquisition: “Iliman is a player we've admired for some time, and we're delighted to add his sought-after quality to Everton. We believe he will add a new dimension to our attack.”
