Mbappé Prepares with Mask for France vs. Poland at Euro 2024
France's Kylian Mbappé is adapting to wearing a protective mask as he prepares for a potential return against Poland in Euro 2024, according to teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Mbappé missed France's recent 0-0 draw with the Netherlands due to a broken nose sustained in their 1-0 victory over Austria. As he recuperates, he has been fitted with a protective mask.
“It's no secret that he's eager for the upcoming game. Regarding the mask, he's starting to acclimate,” Tchouaméni stated on Sunday.
“Certainly, he would prefer to play without it, but according to the doctors, he has no choice. However, this won't hinder him. We're confident he'll be fully prepared once on the field and will significantly contribute.”
Tchouaméni, who will also be Mbappé's teammate at Real Madrid after the tournament, indicated that France is focusing on improving their finishing following a slow start to Euro 2024, having scored only one goal in their initial two group matches.
“We recognize the quality of our strikers, and we trust they will start scoring more goals soon. It's a collective effort, involving midfielders and defenders as well,” Tchouaméni remarked. “Enhancing our efficiency in front of goal is one of our key objectives.”
Mbappé's potential return against Poland could be pivotal for France as they aim to advance further in the tournament.
