Scotland Draw with Switzerland, Keep Euro 2024 Hopes Alive

Scotland managed to secure a crucial point against Switzerland, keeping their Euro 2024 campaign alive despite battling injuries and errors.

Scott McTominay's deflected shot in the 13th minute nearly lifted the roof off Cologne Stadium, giving Scotland an early lead.

However, a misplaced back pass from Anthony Ralston provided Xherdan Shaqiri with an opportunity to score. Shaqiri capitalized with a sublime first-time shot, placing the ball high beyond Angus Gunn.

In a setback for Scotland, Kieran Tierney pulled up with a hamstring injury as Dan Ndoye missed a significant chance when through on goal. Tierney's injury will sideline him for the upcoming game against Hungary on Sunday.

Despite already dealing with a weakened defense, Scotland rallied in the closing stages. Grant Hanley struck the post with a header from an Andy Robertson free-kick.

The Swiss had several late chances but failed to score again, allowing Scotland to move to third place in Group A. A victory against Hungary would likely secure Scotland's advancement past the group stage for the first time in their history.
