Ronaldo Breaks Saudi Pro League Scoring Record
Cristiano Ronaldo has rewritten the history books in the Saudi Pro League, smashing the goal-scoring record for a single season. His double for Al-Nassr against Al-Ittihad propelled him to a staggering tally of 35 goals.
The 39-year-old surpassed Abderrazak Hamdallah's previous record of 34 goals, achieved during the 2018-19 season, albeit in fewer matches. Hamdallah achieved his milestone while also playing for Al-Nassr.
Since joining Al-Nassr on a free transfer in January 2023, Ronaldo has been in sensational form, notching up 64 goals in 69 appearances across all competitions. His impactful presence has been pivotal for the team.
Despite Ronaldo's remarkable feat, Al-Nassr finished as runners-up in the league standings for the second consecutive season, trailing champions Al-Hilal by 14 points. However, they maintained a comfortable 17-point lead over third-placed Al-Ahli.
Ronaldo's illustrious career spans 22 years, during which he has scored a remarkable 765 goals for clubs such as Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. Furthermore, he holds the record for the most international goals, with 128 strikes in 206 appearances for Portugal.
