Ferrari Confirms Signing of Former Mercedes Duo; Jerome d’Ambrosio Appointed Deputy Team Principal
Belgian racing driver Jerome d'Ambrosio will assume the position of Deputy Team Principal at Ferrari, departing his role as head of Mercedes' young driver programme. Joining him from Mercedes is Loic Serra, who will serve as Head of Chassis Performance Engineering for the Scuderia Ferrari.
D'Ambrosio, born in Belgium in 1985, boasts a successful racing career with notable achievements such as a GP2 victory and three Formula E wins, along with 20 Formula 1 Grand Prix appearances between 2011 and 2012. Prior to his tenure at Mercedes, he held positions including Team Principal for Venturi Racing in Formula E.
Serra, who previously served as Mercedes' performance director, brings his expertise to Ferrari, overseeing key areas including Track Engineering, Aero Development, Aero Operations, and Vehicle Performance. He has prior experience with Michelin and the former BMW-Sauber team.
Both D'Ambrosio and Serra are scheduled to assume their new roles at Ferrari on October 1 this year, reporting directly to team boss Fred Vasseur and Technical Director Enrico Cardile, respectively.
